When I was a teenager, Mr. Joseph Katzenstien z’l gave my father a recording of the Shul choir, which was recorded in a concert in 1955. Today, via Googling, I discovered that this was released as a record at the time. Recently, his daughter gave me the original magnetic reel from which this record was pressed.
I just discovered the album jacket on the National Library of Israel website, which contains information about the soloists. I have shared parts of the album via my YouTube channel and proudly share the rest here. I have removed the Rav’s speech since I posted it years ago on YouTube. It is one of only a few recordings of the Rav zt’l. (I have posted two of them.)
When I have time, I hope to split this recording into tracks and perhaps – if a donor steps forward- would have the original professionally digitized. The picture below is the album jacket found on the NLI website. They have barred internet access to the record because it was a “commercial” venture.
