For many years the youth of the community would migrate to the Shabbos afternoon Mincha and Maariv services of the Agudas Yisroel of Upper Manhattan. In those days the youth would mingle in this way and it led to many marriages within the community. Today’s youth have the opportunity to spend formative years in advanced Yeshivas. Furthermore, in our times such mingling does not seem to shorten the match-making process. IMHO.
